TCA Peel - Accelerate Peeling

Here are the photos from my latest 25% TCA peel. Today is day 6 after my peel application. This peel took 3.5 days from application to last peel: I applied the 25% TCA peel Wednesday night before bed, and the last piece fell off by noon on Sunday.

I think my LED DPL light therapy device helps to accelerate peeling process, which makes a huge difference to me.

I applied the chemical peel above my lip earlier in the day since it takes longer to peel and doesn't seem to be as noticeable during the healing process, so that's why it doesn't look frosted here.

Day 0 - 25% TCA peel frost

Using my DPL LED Light Therapy following my TCA peel
I've been using the DPL (Deep Penetrating Light) Therapy after my TCA peels since the skin is injured, and the LED light therapy (supposedly) accelerates healing, so that means I peel faster or sooner. Does it work? I don't know, but based on the clinical studies, I think it has the potential to work.

Day 1 - 25% TCA peel (no makeup or sunscreen)
Day 2 - 25% TCA peel
On day 2, you can see my skin is starting to turn a bit brown, which is normal. The skin is tighter and starting to take on that leathery look and feel, but I can still go out with ss and concealer. Here are side pictures:

Day 3
Day 3
I continued using my DPL LED Light Therapy device for 9 minutes each day, except for day 4. I do think it helps my TCA peel faster, but I just don't know for sure.

Most of the skin under my mouth (chin areas) peeled off by the evening of day 3 (Saturday). And this is what I woke up to Sunday morning (day 4):

Day 4 - am
I've found that the skin around my mouth peels faster than any other area. The body heals the eyes the fastest, then the mouth area next. Since my problem areas are around my mouth, I try to limit the TCA peel to those problem areas only.

Here's a picture from yesterday, a full day after all the peeling was done. I am wearing physical sunscreen and powder in this picture.
Day 5
I researched LED light therapy, and I don't think it's a viable therapy for anti-aging alone (unless using the Titan--a very strong device only available in a doctor's office), but the research shows that devices available for home use can produce the waves and strength necessary to promote healing to injured tissue. I will continue to use my DPL LED light therapy to (hopefully) accelerate healing and to help me peel faster. I guess the only way I'll know for sure if it helps is to try to do a TCA peel without it...

  1. Wow, almost 48 years old! Your skin looks great. Do you think it's the peels alone, heredity, diet?? Thanks for all the pictures. It's great to see a real person's skin and get an idea of how products may work for me (I know we r all different but it still helps).

  2. Hi. Thanks for the post and the kind words. No, I don't think it's the peels alone; I think sunscreen, specific products, and a healthy lifestyle all contribute to younger looking skin.
